How it works

Rescue shelters register on Right Pets. Once registered, they are able to add the pets they have available for adoption. This is designed to be easy, with the basics filled out in a single form, followed by the ability to upload images and add a profile write up.

Once the pet details are ‘complete’ it can be made live on the site and is available to be seen. Visitors on the site can view the pets for adoption. If they become members, they can shortlist pets, plus make a pet adoption application. The application process is standardised meaning that the shelters get the same consistent information every time.

The whole adoption process is tracked through the website with emails going to both applicant and shelter as the process continues. Right Pets is the central hub where shelter and adoptee can see progress.

Of course, a visitor can search the site for the pet they want in their area, or further afield. I’m starting with Lancashire initially but will be covering all counties over the next few months.

My vision is that every animal in need on Right Pets gets the chance to find loving forever homes. They all deserve the love and care of the right owner.
